Duration Exceedance - Tsunami Warning

In this page we report the results of the Duration-Exceedance (D-E) calculation proposed by Anthony Lomax and Alberto Michelini (Lomax and Michelini, 2009b, see example).
The procedure is designed to capture the duration of the P-wave high frequency motion that has been found (Lomax and Michelini, 2009a) to be a good indicator of tsunami likelihood. In particular, the analysis of a set of earthquakes during the past 20 years has shown that durations longer than 50 s are generally associated to earthquakes producing tsunamis.
